Student Services’ Centre

Student Services promote the health and well-being of students at Mangere College so they can reach their academic and personal potential.

Our team is made up of Guidance Counsellors, Nurses, Social Worker, & Community Liaison Officer


We aim to always be:

Access to all our services is free and walk-ins are welcomed

COUNSELLING

Mangere College offers a confidential counselling service with the aim of supporting students going through a wide range of issues including (but not limited to) anger, anxiety, bullying, confidence, grief, relationships, sadness or depression and self-esteem. The counselling team has a strong link to agencies in the wider community if specialised expertise is appropriate.

SOCIAL WORK

School-based community Social Worker offering early and responsive social work interventions to  young people and their families

Facilitating Resilience/Mentoring programme during school time

COMMUNITY LIAISON

Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for students to achieve.

Assist students who are struggling to meet our school expectations

NURSING

Provide a walk in clinic to all students

Throat swabbing 

Yr 9 HEEADSSS assessments

Visiting Doctor, Thursday 9-11am by appointment

Visiting Physio, Wednesday 9:30-11am by appointment

Asthma Auckland Nurse visits once a term by appointment

Diversity group meets at lunchtime once a week
